Stranded on an Island....

Have you ever had a dream where you are stranded on an island, and as soon as you wake up you immediately think of the tv show Lost, and how they survived for so long because of all stuff they were able to collect from the plane wreckage? what if you are not so lucky and only have the option to take two items with you for whatever reason? How would you choose?  The two most important elements for survival in civilization and the wildernesses are water and shelter.

If I were stranded on an island, and I could only take two things, I would choose a water purifier and plastic sheeting.

It is common knowledge that more than food the body needs water, it is also clear that drinking dirty water can make one ill. New portable water filters that use charcoal or even sand to filter out water in remote parts of the world have been invented, and this useful device has been commercialized. I would bring this with me to ensure I stay well hydrated and that the water I consume its clean and won't make me ill and weak.

The elements such as the sun (heat) , cold nights, and or rain can become the demise of someone who is stranded.  staying dry in the cold and shielded from the blaring sun is very important for survival. plastic sheeting it's ideal for make shifting a tarp to protect yourself from the harsh and changing weathers seen on islands.

Without any question that being stranded on an island could become difficult, knowing yourself and thinking ahead of what is most important can help you survive, in the fantasy case in which you get to pick two items to take with you, knowing what your priorities are can help you make these selections. after thinking about it I can say I will always carry a water filter and a plastic sheet in my trunk... you never know.  ....
